These young ladies, along with 60 other middle school girls from Lowndes, Valdosta City, and Brooks County Schools, participated in the 27th Annual Sister to Sister Middle School Girls Summit held at Valdosta State University. The girls engaged in morning empowerment workshops focusing on technology safety, the 3E’s (Enroll, Enlist, Educate), and Health of Self and Relationships. In the afternoon, they participated in STEAM sessions, which included planting a tree to assist VSU in replanting trees lost during the hurricane, visiting the planetarium, learning about birds, and concluding with a final safety lesson from the Valdosta Police Department. All sessions were centered around the theme, “Imagine the Power of SHE” (Safety, Health, Education).

From the classroom to the courtroom! Mrs. Tramell's 9th grade lit students got a firsthand look at legal argumentation today with visits from Mr. Sean Clemons, a practicing lawyer, and Mrs. Abi Courson, a law student and teacher at LMS. They helped students perfect their closing arguments for the State v. Hansel & Gretel mock trial, showing them how writing skills translate into real-world legal practice. #RealWorldLearning #LawAndLiterature #StudentEngagement

This year’s theme is "The Power of SHE," and we've packed the day with thrilling activities and interactive workshops that will inspire and empower you to chase your dreams and embrace your uniqueness. Plus, every girl who attends will receive a fabulous t-shirt, a delicious lunch, and a swag bag filled with awesome goodies!
Don’t worry about getting there—we’ll provide transportation to and from Lowndes Middle School!

Mrs. Angelillo's science classes put their problem-solving skills to the test as they experimented with different materials to find the best way to clean up an oil spill! 🧪🔬 Students explored real-world environmental challenges and discovered which materials work best for absorbing and removing oil. 🌎♻️
