Our amazing 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders truly gave their best effort and were rewarded with extra recess and free snow cones as a token of appreciation. Throughout each week of testing, students earned stars for their hard work and dedication, and those who received all their stars got to vote for their favorite snow cone flavors. We're excited to announce the winning flavors for this year: Blue Razz, Toxic Waste, Tigers Blood, and Pucker! Thank you to all the students for their commitment and determination during testing week. Here's to more successes and sweet rewards in the future! 🌟🍧 #GMAS #HardWorkPaysOff #SchoolSpirit

Mrs.Lopez’s ELA classes finished up their Novel Study on Louis Sachar's "Holes" this week!
As we flipped through the pages of this captivating book, we were transported to the arid landscape of Camp Green Lake and the mysterious world of Stanley Yelnats. Each day, we eagerly gathered to discuss the twists and turns of the plot, the complex characters, and the underlying themes. Through our novel study of "Holes," we not only honed our reading skills but also learned valuable lessons about empathy, resilience, and the consequences of our actions. As we wrapped up the story, we enjoyed digging up some some dirt cake being careful for the rattle snakes 🐍, some sploosh that helped on long hot days🍑, and some funions which worked to repel the yellow spotted lizards 🧅.

🎉 Congratulations to the 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Shelly Singletary! 🎉
Mrs. Singletary’s colleagues said, “Mrs. Singletary is a wonderful teacher. She has over 20 years of teaching experience and she brings to kindergarten a wealth of knowledge and expertise from her background teaching preschool and special education. I believe that this background makes her uniquely qualified to provide an excellent academic start for students with a diverse array of skills, abilities, and backgrounds. She is warm and compassionate with the children, and friendly and approachable as a colleague. She truly cares about the personal and academic development of her students and she puts in countless hours outside of the classroom in preparation of lessons and meaningful activities to promote and enhance her students' learning experience.”
