📚🌱 Second Grade Adventure: From Pages to Plants! 🌿 This week, our second graders embarked on a unique learning journey. They started by reading "A Bad Case of Stripes" by David Shannon, a colorful tale about being true to yourself. But we didn't stop at just reading! Taking inspiration from the story's main character, Camilla Cream, and her love for lima beans, our young learners rolled up their sleeves and planted their very own lima beans! 🌱

Today, we witnessed the magic of reading come alive! 📚✨ Miss Barfield's 2nd grade class took on the role of storytellers, reading to Mrs. Guyton's Pre-K class in celebration of National Read a Book Day! It was truly heartwarming to see our older students inspire and engage with their younger schoolmates through the power of books.

Mrs. Godwin’s Math classes had a data day on Tuesday. Groups surveyed their classmates to collect data and then created bar graphs using a scale of 2. They made sure to include a title, labels, the scale, and finally the bars. Lastly, groups created questions that other groups could answer about their collected data. In Social Studies they began a new unit on geography. Learning cardinal directions was much more fun using play-dough when making a compass rose.
