All About Mrs. Fortner

I was born and raised in Tifton, GA and was a member of Chorus from 6th grade until I graduated from Tift County High School in 2006. In Tift County, I performed with the A Cappella choir, the women's choir, and show choir, and I participated in the GMEA All-State Chorus event from seventh grade on. After graduating from Tift County, I attended Shorter College in Rome, GA and obtained my degree in Music Education. In 2017, I earned my Masters of Music Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. I am currently working on my Education Specialist in Advanced Educational Studies (Music Education). Being involved with music has afforded me several opportunities over the years. I have sung for the President of the United States, been to California, Washington, D.C., New York, and various other states, and I've been to Europe 3 times to sing! Since I started teaching in 2010, I have taught both middle and high school (grades 6-12). My husband, Jacob Fortner, is the Director of Bands at Cook High School in Adel. We have two children: our son, Fox, and our daughter, Caroline. I am so excited to share my passion for music with you and am looking forward to a fantastic year!
