Hello, my name is Elijah Curtis. It is my pleasure to start my sixth year off with you at Hahira Middle School as a 6th Grade Science Teacher and Team Leader for team 61. The Lowndes County School district strives to make a positive learning environment for all students, and I am grateful to be a part of the OneLowndes team. I received a Master's degree in Education from Valdosta State University, a Specialist degree in Middle Grades Education at Georgia State Southwestern University, and I am an alumnus of Lowndes High School. My professional goal this year is to, provide my students with a safe space to learn and celebrate their progress towards each of their goals. Along side teaching, I am an assistant football coach, head wrestling coach, and head coach of the boy's track team. I believe that all of my students have the potential to do whatever they put their minds to. In addition to my school life, I am a senior pastor of The Connection at Crusaders For Christ Church in Quitman and The Connection at Revival World Church in Waycross, Ga. Also, my wife and I are excited to welcome our first child, a baby girl, this November. Lastly, I believe that all students have the ability to learn at high levels. However, the choice is up to the student to believe that they can learn. Nothing is impossible to those who believe.
