Support Students' Dreams at HAHIRA MIDDLE SCHOOL!

Support Students' Dreams at HAHIRA MIDDLE SCHOOL!

"Dream Big" began as a challenge for HMS teacher to simply encourage students to chase their dreams; however, the initiative quickly grew into a life-changing program. All students completed a list of dreams, which are then analyzed by faculty and staff at HMS. They constantly search for dreams they can make come true. So, on any given day, a child may have one of his or her greatest dreams granted. The program has not only shown students that hard work paired with passion and dedication result in dreams becoming reality, but it has also inspired students to help make others' dreams come true. We are thankful for a community who has supported us during this journey, and with your help, we look forward to making many more dreams come true!

Community Partner Becomes a Dream-Maker!

Community Partner Becomes a Dream-Maker!

This year Hahira Middle School has embraced the theme Dream Big.  Students have been encouraged to make a list of dreams that could possibly come true.  As students have been working hard to meet academic and behavior goals, faculty and staff members have been working to make dreams come true for students.  Chick-Fil-A, an HMS Community Partner in Education, joined the efforts to make one student’s dream come true.

Clark Rodgers, a 6th grade student, had a dream of being able to provide Chick-Fil-A for his entire team.  Kenneth White and April Bruhl, managers of the North Valdosta Chick-Fil-A granted this dream and more!  Kenneth and April, and of course the Chick-Fil-A Cow arrived at the school with food and that characteristic willingness to serve others.  To Clark’s surprise, Chick-Fil-A not only provided meals for all of the students on his team, but this community business also provided Clark with Chick-Fil-A for a year!  This is yet another example of how local businesses such as Chick-Fil-A invest in our schools and our students.  We are so grateful for our Community Partners in Education!

Is My Child Too Sick To Return To School?

Please remember, after any illness we require children to be fever free for 24 hours, without fever reducing type medications such as Tylenol or Motrin, before returning to school.  Please reference the additional information linked above from Children's Healthcare of Atlanta as a helpful resource  to assist you in making this determination.
